Additional learning support

At Vacy Public School, our dedicated staff ensure that every student is ready to learn. Each morning, our Life Skills Go Program, provides an opportunity for each student to check in and let us know how they are feeling before they begin their formal lessons. Our teachers then use this information to support all their student’s learning needs.

Support is given to our students who have additional learning needs so that every child can flourish in an inclusive learning environment. Formal diagnosis for your child is not required to receive support in our mainstream classes.  Assistance is offered in our classrooms by skilled School Learning Support Officers (SLSO’s), and specialised Learning & Support Teachers (LaST) who work closely alongside the classroom teacher to deliver differentiated programs for those who need them. Small group tuition is also offered to students who may need short-term assistance to fill any gaps in their understanding.
